You smile as you tuck a single curl behind his ear. “Relax, Childe,” you chuckle. “I’m not saying that you do it with malintent. I mean that you do it subconsciously, of course—to soothe your damaged ego—as a result of being afraid of situations you can’t control.”
Childe tenses up. You watch as he clenches his fists in irritation and scowls, until he takes a deep breath and his expression softens.
“In any case, it’s not true. I’m not afraid of anything.”
“Oh, really?” you smirk. “Then prove it.”
