Because the Honmoon was stronger than ever. It waxed as she waned.
And that was the thing, wasn't it.

The honmoon glows golden underneath her feet. She can see the ripples spread up along the walls, carefully ebbing toward her. It stings when the honmoon wraps itself around her entire body, and Rumi can only watch as she’s engulfed by the light, staring at herself, unable to turn away. It feels like an embrace, but it’s cold and wrong, and it makes her tremble even harder, because the honmoon has never felt like that. Not to her.
Quietly, in the very back of her mind, a voice says, “This is what you asked for.”
(or, the au where rumi's patterns disappear after turning the honmoon gold, with severe, unexpected consequences)

basically a rewrite of canon, starting at the Golden rehearsal and going through the pattern reveal and beyond. but ofc Rumi has a more tragic past where Celine physically and emotionally abused Rumi with a guise for improvement. (it gives mother gothel)
