Summary
California for Lex Foster has always stood for freedom. A stronghold across the country where the sun never stopped shining and people were kind and all their problems would magically disappear. That didn't happen.
Nothing can be perfect when you're running away from something. There's always this undercurrent, sharp and swallowing her whole, of fear. Fear of being caught, fear of Hannah getting hurt, fear that she won't be able to protect her.
Luckily, Lex Foster is good at scary things.
She's running, sure, but, still. She's here in Cali-fucking-fornia with Hannah and no mom and two somewhat steady jobs, no one has found them yet, and maybe, just maybe, things can be okay. Not great, but okay.She just wishes she could stop having fucking nightmares about Ethan fucking Green.

Summary
