Summary
When Charley finds himself stranded in the middle of nowhere, with his car stuck in a ditch and the opening act of a blizzard raging around him, he's forced to rely on the kindness and hospitality of a stranger to survive the night. Unfortunately, that stranger also happens to embody everything Charley's ever wanted in a man. You would think romance would be the last thing on his mind after narrowly avoiding the grim fate of freezing to death, and it should be. But the more he talks to his unexpected savior, the more he can feel himself falling down that familiar, slippery pink slope.
Too bad there's no way Yuri could possibly be feeling the same. Because, if anything, this night has proved that Charley's not that lucky...right?

Charley wasn’t even sure how they ended up having this conversation, much less how it had devolved into the debate that it was now. He was just glad Yuri wasn’t here to listen to any of this nonsense, although him not being here is probably a large part of how they began talking about him in the first place.
“I’m just saying,” Rhonda said for probably the third time in the last hour. He was starting to feel like they were going in circles about this. “I haven’t talked to the guy much, but he wasn’t exactly giving me ‘hetero’ vibes when I did,” she said, using air quotes around the word hetero.

It wasn’t a big show they were playing tonight, just a dingy dive bar that Rhonda was able to convince the manager to give them a shot, similar to all the other shows they’ve gotten before, solely on the oddly persuasive way Rhonda was able to talk people into doing what she wanted when it suited her. She didn’t employ these powers of hers often, but when she did, they usually paid off.
It was nothing to get overly nervous about; they’ve performed like this dozens of times before, but still, Charley had a habit of building things up in his head until his anxiety was sky high. Although this never did retract from the familiar yet still exhilarating tingle of excitement that came before stepping out on stage in front of a crowd of people.

But the teacher's willing to waive a few prerequisites to give him a chance to graduate on time, and when she assigns her best student to help him get up to speed, what could have been a disaster becomes a blessing in disguise.
Even if it might take a few years for him to recognize that and make the most of it.
