“Are…you okay?” Izuku tentatively asks, sitting down on his desk chair.
“Yeah, I’m fucking okay, why the fuck wouldn’t I be?”

“This.” Katsuki gestured between them. “Us. Or well, you and I. There hasn’t really been an us in a long time, I think.”

Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.
Alternatively: Deku and Kacchan are soulbound.

About 3 months after Izuku moved in, is when things started to settle. Katsuki had agreed to let Izuku be his temporary roommate as long as he didn't plan to become a permanent fixture in the apartment. He was starting to think that maybe Kacchan had settled a little too much on the fact that he was here, he was hardly even discreet about his… activities. It wasn’t the fact that he was doing it that had made Izuku wince, it was the fact that he knew who he was doing it with.
