Summary
Nine months into Jinshi and Maomao's relationship, Christmas arrives, bringing a festive mood and cold weather. But before they can truly celebrate, they need to solve lingering issues they'd separately carried for too many years. Maybe this year, they could put an end to those thoughts that dampened their moods. Maybe, they could help each other find their way through to the other side, too.

Summary
”Say, Maomao,” Jinshi asked, right as she took a large bite of her dumpling that left her mouth full. Typical timing. “How would you feel about getting a cat?”
”Another one?” Chue quipped, and Maomao watched as Jinshi smirked and swiped jokingly towards her face from the other side of the table.
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
“Another one? Have you been secretly raising a cat?” Maomao’s mouth was still full, and her speech was muffled by the food, but the question flew out of her mouth before she could stop it. No one took offence to her poor manners, though. No, instead, all four of them laughed off her question far too easily. Or rather, three of them. Basen looked equally as confused.

Maomao begins an investigation to secretly lure out Jinshi's supposed hidden cat.

Summary
After hearing of his brother’s sudden passing and subsequently the demand for him, the only feasible heir as of the moment, to take the throne in his stead, Maomao had been the first person he had called upon. It was far into the late hours of the night - early morning, even - by the time he had been freed from council discussions regarding his status change. As soon as the summon had been sent out, the apothecary had come with little complaint.
Jinshi couldn’t read the expression on Maomao’s face as he had relayed the information of the Emperor’s untimely death, and frankly, his own tone had been equally as unreadable. That was, up until the moment he voiced that he had to let go of her.

”I see. Then, I won’t let my presence interrupt a moment longer. I wish you a good evening, your Majesty.”Or!

Summary
It started with a crash; a loud bang against the wooden door followed by thudding, heavy footsteps, and the ambience of the outside downpour becoming a little deafening in the silent apothecary shop. Her eyes shot up in alarm, ready to run, pounce, or freeze, before the overpowering stench of blood - too much blood - hit her, alongside a very familiar face.
”Master Jinshi?”
The man in question took a far too haggard breath, before wincing a smile and a bitter laugh: “It’s been a while. Hungry?”

Summary
Celebrity Maomao and normal guy Jinshi modern AU!
Initially created for a prompt week, but I have to admit I really love writing this role reversal Maomao and Jinshi where I try to exaggerate traits of theirs from canon that are usually hidden behind masks or silence due to their roles. So this may be extended every now and then when I feel like returning to them. A brief warning that due to the nature of the situations I've put them in, they aren't entirely in character, but I don't think I've made them *too* out of character for it to be considered OOC entirely. Maomao is just comfortable enough to speak her mind, and Jinshi's self worth issues are multiplied drastically.
These will probably make sense out of order, as long as you're aware of the general setting, but I wouldn't recommend it hugely!

Summary
“I’m the Emperor’s eldest son,” Jinshi blurts out when Maomao opens the door.
He stands, half slouched against the frame of her door as if he might collapse. His ragged, hurried breaths make for the only sound in the dark hallway of her dorms, which remain blessedly silent in spite of the nightly disturbance. Maomao should have gone to bed a long time ago, but she lost track of time, leafing through one of the books she borrowed from the medical office.
Would she have heard Jinshi knock on her door if she had?
Her eyes scan over his dishevelled features and she blindly reaches for his wrist, pulling him inside. The muted thump of the door closing behind them sounds like an ominous warning about her allowing an unmarried man inside her chambers in the middle of the night.
or: Jinshi knocks on her door in the middle of the night with a discovery. Maomao lets him in.

Summary
The infected, while terrifyingly durable and dogged in their determination to spread the parasite, were not superhuman. They had normal human bodies, and thus their senses were not any more enhanced than the average person’s. They would not be able to smell her, and if she was quiet, she could probably get away without them hearing her.
It was fine. She was fine. There was a back exit just through here, Maomao knew there was, it was how she had gotten into this pharmacy in the first place without being detected. It was just around this corner, past the lockers and break room, she could get out before anything–
A tall shadow stood in her path, too tall, reeking of iron and old sick.
Maomao scrambled to a halt.

Or, while wandering the ruins of a nation overrun with zombifying parasites, Maomao gets herself a weirdly benign stalker. Somehow, this doesn’t end badly.
