'Please work with me' he all but internally screams while maintaining his poker face.

“Tell me again about our mission?” Kim Soleum asks. He’s read the rescue report already but he doesn’t know where to begin for small talk.
“A rescue request came in this afternoon for three trapped civilians at a known hotel-themed disaster,” Agent Bronze says, eyes not leaving the dark road ahead of him. “It’s impossible to exit once you enter without prior preparation.”
“We leave flyers in the lobby for civilians to call for rescue. It should be simple as long as the civilians haven’t checked in before we arrive.”
They’re 20 minutes into what will be a 2-hour drive along the coast.
Agent Choi’s knee touches his again.

In which Agent Choi expertly navigates his relationships with his new coworker, his job, his perennial traumas, Agent Bronze, and the gruesome reality of the paranormal, not necessarily in that order.
