Everyone and their mother knew Crime Alley sat on a razor's edge- only one slight imbalance away from toppling over, just the barest of embers away from fully igniting. The Bats felt for the residents there- worried for them and helped where they could- but full involvement was too dangerous. (Red Hood didn't give three shits about danger. Crime Alley was his home and if he had to burn it to the ground to make it better he would- and Bats be damned: he did)
Every member of the Justice League knew that The Founders Community was on the verge of another civil war- coexisting never seemed to be in their vocabulary. The situation was monitored of course, but no one wanted to be the one to pull the trigger on one of the largest meta communities in the nation. Fanning the fire would only invite death. (Hadriyan 'Rin' Black had been friends with death since she was an infant, she didn't give three shits about inviting the bastard over for tea. Death was already at home in the Founding, and if she had to lead a civil war to get the rest of the world to see it she would. In doing so, she saved hundreds- if not thousands- of lives)
Now: if only Hermione could get the two red-clad idiots to realize they're in love.

Something came whizzing down the kitchen chimney as he spoke and caught him sharply on the back of the head. The next moment, thirty or forty letters came pelting out of the fireplace like bullets.
“That does it!” he snapped, his beady little eyes focused solely on Harry, “It’s you that they want. And they won’t stop coming after us until you’re… gone”.
Harry didn't like the sound of that.
“But Vernon, we can’t! You heard what that- that despicable old man told us!”
“Don’t worry, pet” Vernon said, his nasty grin triumphant, “I’ll leave him someplace so far away that those freaks will never trace him back to us. There’s an institute up north, for these- these hopeless cases and whatnot - St Brutus's Secure Centre for Boys. I’ll leave him there, and then we can get back to our nice, normal life”.Or, the one where Harry doesn't attend Hogwarts in first year but finds his way to the wizarding world anyway, and this changes everything.

Harry is sent to st Brutus to escape from the letters, the dursleys abandon him there.
He meets Andrew rowle, a halfblood whos mother was disowned for marrying a muggle.
Harry learns wandless and silent magic and politics etc from the books rowle lends him
Sirius is freed etc without him entering Hogwarts. Everyone believes harry to be dead and so does Sirius until dumbledore shows him a book of admittance
Harry re enters the wizarding world at 15 and meets wolfstar at their cafeHarry is brought to grimmauld and kreacher likes him because of his dark magic affinity. He gives him the locket and asks him to destroy it. The locket brings Harry warmth. Harry is sorted into Slytherin and disarms Kenneth towler without his wand. Harry defends Astoria from a bully and he and Daphne gets him expelled. Harry begins correspondence with Mrs Malfoy. Later on he mind walks with tom and prevents Draco from being recruited, earning narcissa’s favor.
Dumbledore shows Harry memories of tom and is displeased when Harry defends tom. Harry and tom dance at a gala and everyone freaks. Harry enters naginis mindscape and they bond. Nagini tells tom Harry can speak parseltongue. Harry and snape have classes together where snape teaches him how to control his magic and not get overpowered by dark magic. Tom sends Harry a flower on Valentine’s Day and tells him to wear it. It means no one will love you more than I do. Harry gets kidnapped and everyone goes crazy. Tom tortured the 6 responsible (1 is dead) and Snape kills them. Harry wakes in the hospital and dumbledore is pissed when Harry isn’t disgusted by what tom did. Sirius and Remus are warming up to Randolph lestrange bc he healed Harry. They are trying to understand Harry and tom’s relationship and are trying to be supportive.
Due to Harry successfully apparating away from his prison cell and into hogwarts he passes his apparition classes with ease. He asks slughorn for sanguinis contact and is displeased by slughorns speciesism. Harry’s creature rights bill has passed but he wants to help the centaurs and vampires too now that he has already helped werewolves. His next bill is on the rights of women to inherit and not be forced into marriages.
