Summary
After high school, every Daywalker has to either spend six months at a military camp, or at a hospital. After that, they're welcome to choose their own path. And all eighteen-year-old Nova Bright wants to do is train at the military camp.
But her mother loved volunteering at Sunnyside's hospital (now welcome to all monsters) so much that Nova ended up there, in the Stella Bright Memorial Hospital, instead. And worst of all, she's in the (arguably) most awful wing: The Soulmate Wing, where people go when things don't go as planned with their soulmates.
And the strangest part? The wing's longest resident is a comatose vampire.
OR: In a world where you meet your soulmate when they introduce themselves to you, sometimes finding your soulmate is a little more complicated.

Summary
It wasn't supposed to go like this.
Matthew Wheeler just wanted to get through high school and get the hell out of Hawkins. Go somewhere he'd be somewhat safer.
Instead he finds himself in a hellish landscape, protecting 12 year old Will Byers as they are hunted by a monster with a petal-like face.
Meanwhile, Steve Harrington finds himself thinking about the Wheeler boy more and more when he should be thinking about his girlfriend and Matthew Wheeler's twin sister, Nancy Wheeler.
But nothing is what it seems and Matthew Wheeler must decide how his story is going to end.

Now, both of them 16-years-old, they both sneak out of their respective towns. Victor, wanting to see the sun before it's too late, leaves Shadyside. Nova, yearning to see the stars before she becomes the next commander, sneaks out of Sunnyside. They run into each other, and things... spiral from there.

Summary
Victor, despite saving his village, doesn't want to return home. The reason? His aunt told him she should have him defanged. So he hides out at Camp Rayburn, trying to get a hold on his emotions. After a confrontation with Vera, he's left feeling even worse until Nova finds him and takes him to meet her father for some comfort from a parental figure.

That one line stuck out to me, and I couldn't not make an angsty fanfic from it. Like, I'm sorry, being defanged sounds horrific, allow me to make angst from that. There should have been a bit more of a reaction from the vampires after that line.
Also, FireFly (Victor/Nova) because they're amazing, and I need more of them.
