Summary
A few more moments passed, and then Koumba was talking again, something about Zosia's research on queer temporality - props to him for even knowing that term - but Carol was only partly listening. She was aware of several things simultaneously: the way Zosia's turtleneck just touched the bottom of her jawline, the lingering aftertaste of the green monstrosity she had downed earlier, the faint pressure of Koumba's hand still on her back as if he thought she might fall again, which was fair, because she might. She was also aware, with clarity that sometimes comes after a fourth or fifth drink, that she should extract herself from this conversation immediately.
---
Zosia's a gender studies professor while Carol's a creative writing professor with dreams of leaving her job and writing her own great work, Bitter Chrysalis. She's uneasy taking the first step, and mistrustful of anyone who ventures to get too close to her. Zosia, on the other hand, wants to learn all about what's in that mind of hers.

Summary
For only a second, and maybe she imagined it, Carol thought she saw a glimmer of the most human expression Zosia had worn yet: annoyance.
“And you’ll still be working on reversing this?” Zosia asked.
“We wouldn’t be very good heroes if we didn’t, now would we?”

or: Carol and Manousos have found a way to (maybe) undo the apocalypse. They need a willing(?) participant to help their cause.

Summary
Carol Sturka is one of Hollywood's most respected directors - and one of its most emotionally guarded. When she finally gets the greenlight for the sapphic love story she's been circling for years, she makes an interesting choice: Carol casts Helen Umstead, award-winning actress and former almost-something, as her lead. Opposite her? Zosia Kamińska, an actress who looks at Carol like she's a puzzle worth solving and a door worth opening.
The film is about two women who want what they cannot have.
The production is about three women discovering what they want in the first place.
Carol certainly didn't expect this much drama to happen off camera.Bookmarked by annikan
