Summary
Vander’s no stranger to bad habits. Everyone’s got their vices, and, in the Undercity, you’d be a fool not to indulge them. Makes the bitterness of life go down just a little easier, a shot of liquid courage to temper the choking waters of the Pilt. He’s seen how it takes some folks—who down here hasn’t?—but he’s always been careful with it, never fallen in too deep.
The problem for Vander lies not in the frequency of his indulgence, but in the nature of his vice. It’s what’s led to him standing here, on the bridge between the two cities, red sky up above him for the first time in weeks, and a small stretch of rain-soaked walkway waiting between him and the enlistment tent.
Take Me to War is an angsty, smutty, plot-heavy dragon rider AU, inspired partially by several intense hyperfixations from childhood, partially by my desire to drag these fuckers through emotional hell, and entirely by my dear friend who is doing me the honour of beta reading the story, encouraging me on my 3 AM writing sprees, and generally enabling my terrible ideas. Though this fic is already fully planned out, rest assured: she can and will kill me if I don't finish it.

Summary
"Your eye." Mike breathed out. He was so close to Will that his breath fanned on will's lips, causing goosebumps to spread down his chest. Mike's eyes trailed downwards to where Will cradled his injured fist, "your hand-! Will, what happened?"
Mike's hand replaced Will's own and gently cradled it, mindful of the injury it sustained not too long ago. It made Will's throat dry, his nervous swallow an embarrassing audible 'click'.
"Mike, I-" He trailed off, looking down at his vans, then back up into the beautiful, dangerous abyss that was Mike's eyes. He swallowed around a painfully dry throat once more, "...I think something's wrong with me."

Summary
He hangs Will’s painting in Max’s room. It’s possibly for Lucas’ benefit than it is for Max’s but Lucas looks so painfully grateful for it that Mike can’t bring himself to take it back. Even if he spends the few nights he gets at home staring at the wall where he’d thought -for one brief bright moment when he’d dared to believe they’d win again- that he’d get to hang it.
“He’s getting too good.” Lucas says, apropos nothing. Mike follows his eyes to the painting, to them, hopeful and young and triumphant.
When Mike had seen it first, it had felt like he’d re-settled in his skin for the first time in years. He wonders what it means, when the most real he’s ever felt is in Will’s brushstrokes.

Mike is a fan of destiny, fate and literary symmetry. Will is rather attached to his own choices.

Summary
"Sullivan's pace quickened as he strode down the halls of the lab in the Hellish dimension, the last thirty minutes stuck in his mind on a loop. Some trouble makers breaking into the base, a swarm of those vile undead monsters, a demon shooting his hand through the face of Ramirez-
And a boy, snapping the limbs of one of those monsters without even breaking a sweat- a brand new variable that Sullivan hadn’t predicted discovering."
