    Summary

But the sun has barely set, and Ryunosuke knows that Kazuma could do more, is capable of so much more. So when he sees the rhythm of his hips go restless and erratic, he reaches out, anchoring Kazuma’s waist with both hands. He digs his fingers into the soft flesh, persuading him to a quiet stop.

Kazuma seems to understand now, how Ryunosuke intends to play with him, this little game between them. Groans quietly when Ryunosuke kisses him between his brows, pulling the cushion away from his thighs.

    "Not yet.”

    Summary

It can’t be this, Ryunosuke thinks, when Kazuma congratulates him after, thumps him boyishly between the shoulder blades. The dumb, charming grin on his face when he suggests that they head out for lunch—his treat, of course. Can’t be this, no, when Kazuma had been so hot on his trail, a half-mark or so in their separation; had done so without staying past midnight, with only a cursory skim of his notes. Had kept himself cool and maintained under exam conditions, whilst sweat dripped from the tip of Ryunosuke’s nose and splashed on the paper as he frantically scratched his thesis, smearing the ends of his sentences.

But when their lunch is reduced to its dredges and they’re fishing around for the last bits of meat in the broth, Kazuma’s still on it. Lays on the praise a little thick, face suspended in this forced brightness. Ryunosuke smiles along, tries to shrug it off—even tries to deflect onto Kazuma’s own achievements and efforts, but it’s still there. The saccharinity in his voice, clinging like an aging stain.

“Zhugong, have you ever thought…of forcing me under you?”

Liu Bei nearly choked on his own spit.

    Summary

It was to Scott Goldsmith's incredible misfortune that he had recently realized he could, in fact, still feel. Absolutely revolting. He should have followed his original plan. He should have just left Shelby and Pyro to their conversation; now he had to feel conflicted about allowing this whole mess.

Why couldn't he just have let the pathetic creature die?

Oh right; it was his pathetic creature.

Ugh—attachment. He hadn't at all missed the complexities such emotions brought.

    ---

An Episode 8 Fix-It of a sort; if you like our favorite wet rat Jack von Pyroscythe that is.

    ---

None of them noticed even a hint of Scott's presence as he carefully stepped onto the stone segment of the bridge behind Pyro. He hadn't thought they would, given his centuries of practice. But it was still disappointing; their enemy had at least one vampire firmly in their ranks— that his menagerie of Fledglings did so little to observe their surroundings for unwanted ears was a rather glaring weakness.

    Summary

    "What is that."

"Um." He blinks once, twice and looks away before the third one. Unable to stand how Scott watches him, unblinking in his intensity. "A nest?" Scott's irritation doesn't wane with his answer, if anything — if possible — it only grows stronger. "My nest?" He tries instead.

He looks back into the corner he had claimed as his, a good few feet from his bed and tucked cosily into the corner, safe. The bed he had been gifted, in all its bare-mattressed glory, sat squarely in the centre of the room, exposed on all sides. His nest had walls all around, nestled comfortably where they converged, right in the junction so he can push himself back into the wall and feel secure. Surrounded on all sides and eyes on the door, comforted, even if it's nothing but cold, unfeeling brick.

"That," Scott spits, no small amount of venom in his voice, "is not a nest."
