Summary
“Do you think there’ll be anything left?” Seonghwa rolled onto his side, studying the rise and fall of Hongjoong’s chest. “After the war, I mean.”
“I doubt it,” Hongjoong said. He was close enough that Seonghwa could see the pores in his cheek, the faint stubble along his jaw.
“Maybe the rain will destroy what the war doesn’t,” Seonghwa whispered, “and it’ll just be us left.”
Hongjoong’s gaze dropped to his mouth.
“Maybe, pretty boy.”

Seonghwa’s dream of becoming an architect is about to come true. But shortly after he and Yunho move to London, Great Britain declares war, forcing them into an uncertain future.

Summary
The boy on the banner looked down at him with eyes full of hatred and a golden laurel wreath on his head that had been gained with more blood than any other.
Whenever Seonghwa saw the image of the victor, there was nothing but the memory of that cruel smile as he had slit yet another child's throat. Deeply etched into Seonghwa's memory to forever haunt him.
And the knowledge that he could never bring himself to do what Kim Hongjoong had done.
Or: When Seonghwa gets reaped to compete in the Hunger Games, he is not only sent to an almost promised grave - he is also assigned to be mentored by the infamous Kim Hongjoong. The victor with the highest kill count in the history of the Hunger Games.

Summary
“Will is the thing-in-itself, the inner content, the essence of the world.”
—Arthur SchopenhauerAfter spearheading a Presidential campaign intending to set into motion a decades-long plan for progressive reform, career-diplomat-turned-politician Kim Hongjoong finds the meticulous development of the party's goals utterly sabotaged by their candidate's betrayal in nominating Hongjoong as his Cabinet Minister of Foreign Affairs—a position which no politician has served with their public reputation intact.
Two years into a five-year term, Hongjoong and his most trusted associates are still struggling to decide a plan to recover from this subliminally devastating blow to their political viability.

Summary
After a few dead ends, Seonghwa finally found the door marked “Third Officer.” He hesitated, the ship’s gentle rocking suddenly more noticeable as he crouched to slide the envelope underneath the door, his hand trembling.
No going back now.
Seonghwa straightened and turned to go, feeling an instant flood of relief—until, for the second time that week, he nearly collided with someone standing right behind him.
“Are you always in the habit of sneaking around, Mr. Park?”
—
In 1909, chance meetings on the S.S. Runic set Seonghwa on a journey through Edwardian London, New York, and the depths of the Atlantic aboard the Titanic.

Summary
When Seonghwa’s tour boat capsizes, sending all of its occupants into the churning waves, he and seven others manage to make it to a small island on the horizon, overgrown with vegetation and clearly bearing no other signs of human life. With high tensions, they are forced to work together to survive, and he easily gets along with all but one of his fellow castaways.
Hongjoong is closed off and hot-headed, and eventually Seonghwa gives up on the possibility of civility between the two of them. Still, as the nights come and go and time seems to stretch into one continual loop, he realizes there is more to Hongjoong than he’d initially thought.
The island becomes their new normal, and Seonghwa becomes so accustomed to life there that he can hardly remember what it was like before the world had forgotten about them. Never did they anticipate a rescue, nor the world’s obsession with the eight boys who came back from the dead.
