Summary
The streets of LA passed in a blur, nothing coming into focus from where Eddie’s head was pressed against the window of the rig. His colleagues are talking around him but it had become white noise as soon as they left the parking lot.
“You’re exhausting!”
The only thing he could hear was his own bitter words on repeat in his head. He remembered the way he could tell Buck was seconds from crumbling as he spoke. Buck’s face had flashed with pain and rejection before his walls were quickly reconstructed.
“You’re exhausting!”

Summary
Evan Buckley barely knew himself, he had spent his life trying to fit a mold that his parents had made for him but coming up short at every opportunity.
Eddie Diaz felt like an idiot. This wasn’t the type of thing that happened to guys like him, this was the kind of stuff you saw on those telenovelas his Abuela watched religiously.

Summary
"Max just came out to their parents," Chris explains. "And it didn't go well."
Eddie takes a moment to process that sentence. Max and Chris have been close friends for a few years now, 'they' is not the pronoun he's used to hearing accompany Max's name.
"Right, okay." Eddie pushes himself up from the couch and moves to pick up his car keys. "Of course they can come over. Where are we picking them up?"

Summary
Evan "Buck" Buckley has always felt most alive when he’s off the ground. Trained as a trapeze/aerial silk artist since childhood, his secret life in the air contrasts sharply with his role as a firefighter on the ground. No one at Station 118 suspects the skills he keeps hidden—until a series of daring rescues force Buck to draw on his acrobatic talents in unexpected ways.
As the squad teases and Eddie Diaz’s curiosity grows, Buck must decide how much of himself he’s willing to reveal—and whether the man watching him so closely might be the one person who understands the thrill of flying without fear.
In other words:
Five times Buck uses his trapeze/aerial silk skills on the job to pull off impossible saves. And then the one time the entire crew sees those skills in full display—at a pop-up circus where Buck volunteers, bringing his two worlds crashing together. -

Summary
“Did you know that kissing is good for you?”
Buck asks the question out of absolutely nowhere, and Eddie blinks as he tries to process the words. To be fair, it’s barely seven in the morning — on their day off, after Eddie’s night on the couch — and he’s yet to have the coffee that typically kicks his brain into action.
Also, what?
“Buck,” he says, rubbing at his eyes. “What?”
Or: Eddie and Buck start platonically kissing.
