(Harry’s eyes are a brilliant green, the exact same shade as Lily’s, and sometimes, James can hardly bear to look at him.)
Harry grows up almost entirely alone in a house that’s empty most of the time, with a dad that’s never home, knowing loneliness before he knows the meaning of the word. But Sirius and Remus have never been ones to sit on the sidelines, and despite it all, it’s like he has a second family right there with him. It’s enough.
It has to be.

But once you arrived, all he did was find ways to annoy you, constantly testing your patience just to see you react. He craved your attention, though he didn’t seem to know how to ask for it directly, resorting instead to petty provocations. While you were playing Pokémon on his Switch, he snatched one of the controllers right out of your hand, smirking to himself.
