Summary
“Over the phone it seemed like this trip was a bit of a shit show. I thought you deserved a treat.”
“So far I’m loving the treat.”
“Oh, this isn’t the treat.”
Shifting to sit down on the bed Tom stole another kiss. “Well what did you get me then?”
“Not me. You bought yourself something.”
A roll of satisfaction works its way down Tom’s spine at the thought of Maverick spending Tom’s money so easily. “And what did I get myself?”

Summary
More than half the movie had gone by when Tom moved his arm from the arm rest between them, shifting the rest up so there is nothing between them and slipping his hand into Maverick’s lap, palm sliding across his thigh, indecently high and possessive. The heat of his hand sunk through the athletic pants that Tom had set out for him to wear earlier into Maverick’s thigh. The oddly casual choice of clothing made more sense now.
Leaning in, Tom whispered, “Tell me to stop and I will.” In response Maverick slowly but purposefully spread his legs out wider.

Summary
When Maverick walked onto the balcony and caught the sour earthy scent of drugs, he scrunched his nose up against the smell and plopped himself down in the empty seat next to Tom.
“You know, you really don’t give off ‘weed guy’ vibes.”
Tom rolled his eyes over to Maverick and took a draw off the joint in his hand. “I don’t know how to respond to that.”
“I don’t know. Rich white guy. You think cocaine maybe. Pills. Not weed. Very everyman of you.”

Summary
The day before, Maverick had answered a call from Ice with his heart in his throat.
“I’d like for you to fly down and see me.”
“I’m assuming you’re not giving me permission to commandeer a jet.”
A huff of a laugh came down the line. “You would be correct. If those words ever come out of my mouth, please get me to a doctor because clearly I’m having some sort of event.”
“Yeah, yeah, you’ll see. Someday you’ll actually need someone to steal a jet for you and then where will we be?”
“Mav. Come on, I’m serious. Say yes.”
“Yes, of course I want to see you. Does this have anything to do with–”
“We can talk when you get here. Can you come tomorrow?”

Summary
“I’ve just left him,” Trent said the moment he slid into the booth next to Coach Beard. He had intended to play it cool, but it all came out in a rush. “He doesn’t want to go back. He admitted that his mum guilted him into leaving Richmond, and he doesn’t want to go.”
Beard’s expression didn’t change. “Is he still going?”
Trent sat straight against the back of the booth. “Yes.”

Summary
Trent's--nervous. He's never done something like this before, and it feels insanely risky and stupid and hot. He just... needs something to take the edge off. Needs to get out of his own head for a while. Needs to let go. And he doesn't exactly have anyone he can turn to for that, so--anonymous, in a somewhat official environment (that is to say, an establishment that was generally considered safe for this sort of thing) would have to do.
Just his luck that only the second time he lets himself have this, two of Richmond's coaches walk through the door.
Or: Trent gets strapped to a bench at a sex club; Ted and Beard happen to be there and end up fucking his brains out.

Summary
"Uh, Captain — is everything alright, sir?" he called, trying his level best to keep his voice as calm as possible.
Maverick twisted to face him, a rare frown turning down the corners of his normally generous mouth. "What are you doing up here, Lieutenant?"
"I could ask you the same question." He gestured at Maverick's boots, and how close they were to the roof's edge. "You know, that's a long way down, sir, if you don't mind me saying so."
Maverick cocked his head and studied Jake for a moment out of cool hazel eyes before offering a rueful smile. "I promise, this isn't what it looks like."
(Or: Jake finds Mav on a particular meaningful anniversary)

Summary
Trent Crimm dies on a Wednesday.
It doesn’t feel right, for him to die on what should be such a normal day. Ted can hardly believe it, at first. Feels like some sort of big old cosmic joke, really, if he’s being honest about it.
It’s real hard for him to be honest about it.
Trent should have lived forever. He and Ted were supposed to be old together; they were supposed to be married for decades, supposed to see their children have grandchildren, supposed to make a million dinners and have a thousand little arguments and fall asleep in each other’s arms every night for the rest of their nights.
Instead, Trent has a brain aneurysm and dies in his sleep.
And it happens on a Wednesday.
or: trent unexpectedly passes away. ted keeps living. the days after are hard, but ted endures.
