His brow was furrowed, lips pressed into a thin line as one of his advisors spoke into his ear. He barely responded.
And then—A flicker of movement. Tom stepped back from the group, a murmured apology falling from his lips. The crowd parted for him like water. He didn’t look at anyone. He moved with purpose, but it wasn’t the usual commanding stride he carried.
It was off-balance. Urgent. Wrong.
Harry watched as Tom moved past the gold-edged pillars, past the velvet curtains, and pushed open the tall glass doors leading out into the gardens.
