Claudia saw his face changing when he saw her, tight mouth and eyebrows relaxing. Her anger resembled a coal stone when he finally approached her. He sat next to her and stayed quiet.
“I am sorry.”
Their family functioned like this for years: fights, bitter words, accusations, tears. They pretended nothing happened the next day. Everything smoothed over with a sorry and a broken smile.
“Heard that one before.” She croaked out, her gaze focused on the sky. The moon was on display, a full moon in all its beauty.

Tsumiki knows being a sorcerer is dangerous. Despite Megumi and Gojo’s best efforts, they could not protect her from that knowledge. They never admitted it to her face, of course, but she can see it in their eyes. She can see it in the amount of training Gojo has made Megumi do, and in their hesitancy to speak about anything jujutsu-related when she’s around.
Tsumiki is not stupid. She knows sorcerers regularly die on missions, and she knows that Kirara and Hakari only being students does not guarantee survival.
She knows that every mission Kirara is sent on could possibly be their last.

Suguru stares at the ingredients laid out on the counter.
Nanako pokes the bag of sugar. “Do you really think this will work?”
No. Suguru does not have much faith this will work. His recipe is from some monkey with a “mommy cooking blog” that was last active six months ago, with no pictures of the final product or explanation of how the cookies are successful even despite the lack of eggs. But it was the only recipe he could find, and he promised the girls they could at least try.
He doesn’t want to get their hopes up, but he also doesn’t want to bring the mood down before they’ve even started. So he tells them, “I’m not sure if it’ll work or not, but all we can do is try and see what happens.”
nanako's egg allergy prevents her from eating a lot of things, so suguru and the girls decide to make their own egg-free cookies together
