“Yang Jungwon.”
The way Jay says it- each syllable clear, deliberate, pointed- makes Jungwon’s stomach lurch.
Silence blankets the table.
Jungwon turns, slowly, already regretting it.
Jay is looking straight at him now, head resting on his hands. He leans towards Jungwon, one corner of his mouth lifting. Teasing.
“I challenge you to a duel.”
Everything crashes Jungwon’s senses at once; the breeze that whistles past his ears, the salt that flows through his nose and crystallises on his tongue; - the way Jay tilts his head like a fucking ocean current ready to pull him under-
Jungwon can only grunt in response.
Jay’s smirk deepens.
or: Jay's the new dumb demigod that somehow managed to land at Camp Half-Blood, despite not knowing anything about their mythology. Jungwon hates him from the beginning.

“You’re cute.”
Euijoo chokes.
“Huh?” His voice cracks so violently it sounds like he’s just hit puberty again.
The other boy doesn’t falter. He stands up now, collecting the rest of the water bottles, waiting for Euijoo to also stand. His tone is so casual, so confident, that Euijoo starts doubting whether he heard him correctly.
But then the boy says it again.
“You’re… cute.” the boy repeats, again in Japanese, as if that clears things up.
Euijoo’s brain officially blue-screens. His hands are sweating so much that the bottles he’s holding are slipping- but before he can stop himself, he blurts out in perfect Japanese,
“Sorry! I’m Korean!”
(or: the 5 times Sungho openly flirts with Euijoo, and the one time Euijoo openly flirts back)

Summary
The other boy is still there, observing Kei, almost in the same way Kei was when he was trying to watch them. He’s standing so serenely, that Kei almost believes that he wasn’t the one who made any noise. But there’s no one else around, so it had to be him. Just what is he doing?
Although a strange man coming in a strange van and just staring at Kei is all definitely worrisome, Kei has more… pressing issues to be worried about.
He briefly glances over at the other boy once more, memorising his outline- before speed-walking back inside, making sure to close the door silently.

The rest of his words die in his throat as Euijoo, clad in his striped, blue jumper and his blue jeans, just lowers himself on the floor and scoots backwards, coming to rest between Nicholas’s legs.
Nicholas freezes.
Well, fuck.
This was not part of the plan.
Nicholas sits there like a statue, his body stiff as Euijoo shifts into position. His damp hair brushes against the fabric of Nicholas’s jeans, and the sensation sends every nerve in his legs haywire. He gulps, his throat dry.

His mother hums, as if sensing that Jay’s universe is slowly descending on him. “That’s okay, Jongseong-ah. It’s okay not to know.” She takes a deep breath, slowly inhaling and exhaling, calming Jay. “Because that’s what love does to you.”
It’s funny.
‘Love’ as a concept had never been given much thought in the past. Now, it seems to be the only thing Jay can think about. He tries not to dwell too much on its different forms—or which one he shares with Jungwon.
All he knows, all he feels is- ache. Longing. Yearning, to the point that Jungwon starts appearing in his dreams, in his conversations, in his daydreams- both conscious and unconscious. Yang Jungwon starts to infiltrate every part of Park Jongseong’s mind that hadn’t been filled before, and he is powerless to stop it.
He wonders if it’s the same for Jungwon.
[or, the feelings whilst growing up with your soulmate- but, for Jay, his lifeline]

“Thank you, baby,” Suho says before leaving, closing the door behind him.
Sieun’s eyes widen, and he stares at the door, completely frozen. He feels a horrifying flush creep up his neck as his mind plays the scene over and over again.
His heart skips a beat.
What did he just call me?
Suho randomly starts calling Sieun all sorts of endearments, which makes Sieun a flustered and confused mess. Surely, Suho, his best friend, calling him baby is normal, right?

“You knew?” Suho looks at him, jaw dropped. “And, side note, I did not kiss you. I almost did. On the cheek. Not the lips. That’s different. So–” He laughs nervously. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. It was not–”
“So why didn’t you?” Sieun furrows his eyebrows, and Suho’s heart almost explodes right then and there.
When Suho's fully recovered, Sieun finds himself catching up on all the sleep that he's been deprived of. Meanwhile, Suho's heart simply cannot handle a clingy, sleepy Sieun who strangely keeps asking for a kiss on the cheek.
