Sequel to ECHOES.
It had seemed so promising, too, the way the mudang described all of Rumi’s symptoms – that restless feeling, like there was something she needed to do or somewhere she needed to go, her waking up crying from whatever dreams she kept having that she could not remember, and the lethargy and the feeling of lacking something. Yearning for something that she just couldn’t put her finger on.
“You need to find the man,” the mudang said. “Find him, and soon everything will return to you. You’re suffering because you couldn’t let him go.”
Rumi asked if maybe she meant her dad, but the mudang had rattled her bells, and fanned with her fan, and shaken her head.
“No, no. This is a romantic partner. A man you were separated from. A handsome one.”
Which just couldn’t be because self-aware, nearly-ascetic, career-focused Rumi had never dated anyone – ever.Series

Summary
Rumi stretches out on the bed, legs crisscrossed at her ankles, ego surfing on her phone. Watching the charts change, watching Huntrix rise even higher. Normal idol stuff.
The timer is almost to zero, anyways.
Jinu opens the door with a slam, then promptly tries to take it back, eyes wide and apologies leaving his lips. Cute, she thinks; the bomb that has been ticking down is about to go off… might as well get one last good look at Jinu in. Before he become insufferable.
Jinu recovers, walks further into their room. By the strut in his step, the curl of his mouth, and the glint in his eyes, Rumi knows what’s coming, what’s about to explode. She braces for impact.
“Guess who’s in Fortnite now,” he says, voice dripping with pride.

Summary
There is something terrible, nauseating, about bumping into an ex. Even worse when it’s an ex you haven’t seen in years. Even worse when it’s your first love. Even worse when you look like shit, in your oldest threadbare pajamas and tragically greasy hair that’s being poorly concealed by a cap.
She’s obviously beautiful, just as she’d been, but there’s something in her expression that lands somewhere in the mix of dark playfulness. Like she’s saying: “I know you’re looking at me,” with her eyes, and mocking you for it with the slight upturn of her lips.
Jinsu was never like that.
But then again, Jinsu had also left out of nowhere, taken Celine’s money and not even bothered to say goodbye, so maybe this is who she had been all along.Series
