Summary
Ten years after Arcadia Bay, Max accepts a job position as an artist-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University in Vermont. Right as the winter semester is about to end, Max’s new close friend Safi dies at the same time someone rips the timeline into two halves; one where Safi is alive, and one where she isn’t. Max has to figure out who on campus ripped apart time (and therefore is time-touched like Max is), what it has to do with Safi’s death, and mend the timeline, all before another storm occurs.

“You never really talk about why you came here.”Christ, what is she even doing here? Max asks herself that question a lot. If being a mentor makes her so uncomfortable, why did she take the job? Why Vermont of all places? Max doesn’t know why the things that make her squirm draw her in like this, why she’s attracted to the feeling of her own fear and discomfort. She wasn’t always this way, but when she tries to go back and point out when she started feeling this pull, she’s not sure she can pin a date to it.
“One of these days I’m going to find out what you’re running from, Max Caulfield.” said Safi. “That’s a promise.”

“You’re such a goofball,” Max chuckled, gently tossing the DVD on her bed to pull Chloe closer into a wobbly hug that led to an equally wobbly and messy kiss.
“And you are a big sci-fi nerd,” Chloe didn’t hesitate to go all out with the kiss, instantly deepening it.
