Summary
Grian shifted again—another small movement, a thoughtless roll of his hips as he resettled. The bed creaked faintly beneath them, the sound sharp in the hush. Grian froze for half a second, then relaxed, deciding it was probably fine. If anything, it helped the illusion.
Scar, on the other hand, went very still.
His jaw tightened, eyes closing briefly as he took a slow breath, hands remaining firmly—but respectfully—at Grian’s sides. When he spoke again, his voice was even, almost too controlled. “Hey,” he said gently, breathlessly, “maybe— maybe don’t move like that.”
Grian blinked. “Oh—sorry.” He flushed, immediately trying to still himself, hands pressing into Scar’s shoulders for balance. “Did I—?”
Before Scar could answer—
BANG BANG BANG.

When a plan hatches for Grian to pretend to be Scar’s partner at his mother’s ‘Christmas Extravaganza’, Grian realises that fake love feels an awful lot like the real thing—especially when everyone else believes it already is.

Summary
Fridays were the worst, and Scar looked forward to them every week.
His shifts at the zoo were often arduous, and his legs always ached violently from the constant bustle, but Quiz Night always made his day better. Especially with all the turmoils of the city making everyone so jumpy, maybe even himself, he needed this time to be with friends, away from work and the rising rates of villains. And all he needed to do to get to that serenity was to grab his bag from the bird sanctuary and return to the safety of street lamps and his friendly security guard.
But that wasn’t what happened. Because Scar wasn’t alone that night.
Or, Scar, a down-on-his-luck bird specialist at a local zoo, found himself absolutely infatuated with the avian vigilante Phantom, for the appeal of crime was far too alluring to be ignored.Bookmarked by Zoroak

Summary
“Scar.”
Grian watched as he turned around, a solemn expression on his face, the armor that had once fit him now hanging loosely from his body. Without another word, they hugged, pulling each other close. Grian was shaking. So was Scar.
“We’re not gonna make it out of this, are we?” Scar whispered, and Grian found himself holding back tears.
“I don’t think so.”
“I don’t want to lose you.” Scar said, setting his head down atop Grian’s.
“Me neither.” He held on to his soulmate tightly, but his hands couldn’t get a proper grip on him with his armor on. “I don’t want to go.”

Summary
A scientist hurried past his cage in a rush, and Grian tensed, drawing his leathery wings up around himself protectively. They didn’t seem focused on him in the slightest, but one could never be sure with these people. They could be preparing some new method of torture for him, some new experiment that he would have to endure. Or at least, that’s what he thought, all the way up until they brought in the angel.
Grian knew immediately that the person they were dragging through the doors was an angel. Even if they didn’t have their large feathery wings out, even if they didn’t have a dull halo encircling their head, he would have still recognized them for what they were. There was an energy to them, a power of pure good radiating off of them that made him feel almost sick to his stomach. Or maybe it was the smell of their built up emotions, slamming against the walls of their semi-mortal body, begging to be given away.
