Summary
An AU that features Penelope as the main heroine of the Odyssey, trying to get back home to her husband (Odysseus) and daughter (Telemachas).
All of the mortal characters are swapped, either by someone of their parallel or through an OC; Some of the Gods retain their original roles while others are switched out for the sake of the AU.

Summary
After twenty years apart, when the two of them finally share their bed again, Penelope does not expect her husband to flinch at her touch.
To his credit, he pretends it never happened. In fact, his discomfort is barely even noticeable: a tensing of muscles, a fleeting wince across his face. A sharp, small gasp, so quiet she can’t be completely sure that she heard it. Odysseus schools his features in a moment, forcing his eyes down.
The steadying breath he takes is slow and controlled, his chest barely rising and falling. Meant to be unseen, meant only for himself. But Penelope is not oblivious.
