Summary
"I- on, Simo- uo okay? Are you there?"
Simon hears more than sees his friend as he double checks his gear.
"Yeah, shit, I'm fine. Something landed, or tried to, outside. I've got to check it out." He gives a hard tug on his vest. Ayub raises his eyebrows.
"What? Be careful, if I don't hear anything from you in half an hour, I'm sending someone. I'm dead serious Simme."
A curt nod is all he communicates to Ayub before he rushes out the door.

Summary
Hey," Wille all but whispers, "What are you doing?"
Simon leans back against his chest, traces Wille's arms around his waist until he finds his hands. "Just looking."
Wille hums somewhere deep in his throat, leans his head against Simon's. The slight stubble on his chin tickles the shell of Simon's ear, he must have just woken up then.
They sway together for a few seconds before Simon speaks again, "You don't look like that."
Or: Simon wanders the palace halls and finds an old family portrait. He has some thoughts on it.

Summary
The smile that has worked its way on Simon's face drops the second he spots a familiar figure hovering on the curb in front of their house. All the chatter around him drowns out as he locks eyes with his dad.
Every fiber in his body stands on alert, surely Micke will get the hint that this is not the moment to hop by for whatever reason he deems necessary.
He doesn't.
His dad's face lights up a tad, and Simon hopes with everything that he has that Micke is sober. That there are no faint traces of cigarette ash on his sleeve, that his eyes aren't bloodshot, that he smells of sandalwood and tangerines instead of the sour odor of alcohol and sweat.
or:
After a short road trip, Wille and Simon settle down in Bjärstad. Wille is in the midst of meeting Simon's extended family when a certain someone shows up, uninvited.

Summary
Simon feels irritation bubble up inside him, he knows his sister doesn’t mean anything by it. But he was at least under the pretence that there was some unspoken rule not to bring the video up, or anything that happened last winter.
“You can’t just say that, it’s insensitive.” He grits his teeth.
“Why? I was just asking a normal question?”
“Sara I’m pretty sure the queen of Sweden doesn’t exactly have time to cook.”
They stare at each other for a bit, tension building. It’s Rosh who manages to dilute the situation with a comment about how Ayub once almost set fire to their kitchen while making gingerbread cookies.-------------
Or, where Simon and Wille heal. Piece by piece.

Summary
Jaspers firm hand grabs his jaw and tilts his head upwards into the light, his warm skin is a stark contrast to the cold air as his fingers dig into Simons cheeks. His own hands are shaking now, and as he tries to pull his face away Jasper his hand only seems to tighten.
“get off me!” Simon snarls, and with a sharp tug he wrestles his face loose. Silence seems to settle over the group and as he sees a flicker of recognition from buzzcut guy still standing in front of him, his knees go weak.
“wait, you’re the guy from that viral video. The singer right?”
Beside him Jasper laughs, “no shit, I remember him from school. You think you’re too good for us now. Is that it?”
The judging tone in his voice stings, “Of course not, just let me go I need to get home before-“
