  2. Summary

“It’s nothing. Just—” Caspian hesitates. “You should do that more.”

    “Laugh?”

    Caspian whispers, “Be happy.”

Peter is quiet a moment before he replies, eyes still closed, “I suppose the circumstances haven’t exactly allowed for that of late.”

There is a rawness to his face and the way he says it that reminds Caspian why both love and bruises are things that are called tender. But he does not draw away from Caspian’s hand, even as Caspian feels his pulse stutter, stumble, and speed by a hair.

“I think,” Caspian tells him softly, “they’re different, now.”

(or, a tenderness-centric series where the pevensies stay in narnia post-prince caspian.)

  4. Summary

“Aslan knows that unless I have blood, as the law demands,” she proclaims viciously, turning and raising her voice for all Aslan’s camp to hear, “all of Narnia will be overturned and perish in fire and water. That boy will die on the Stone Table…” She pauses, regarding them. A tiny, razor-sharp smile lifts the corners of her lips, her eyes. Edmund is stiller than Peter has ever seen him. Still as stone. As death. As one of the Witch’s statues. The smile grows to a smirk as she finishes, “…as is tradition.”

Before the Witch can say anything else, before Edmund can shrink further into himself or Lucy can cry, before Peter can allow the dark froth of fear sloshing in his stomach to rise any higher—before Peter can consider the consequences, he says, “Take me instead.”

(or, a world where it is peter who dies for edmund, and peter who comes back. this changes everything, and also nothing at all.)

    Summary

“I think we should ask Aslan to postpone the coronation. You can’t possibly be seen wearing that.”
“Do you think?” Caspian asks, sincerely. Peter can only glance at his eyes, wide and warm and worried, for a moment. The crown is harder on the eyes but easier to look at.
“I’m only pulling your leg,” he says, laughing as a reassurance. “But I will put my foot down when you’re king.”

    Summary

The wound looks better than Caspian was expecting, but that isn't saying much. It's a jagged thing, stretching across the length of Caspian's knuckles—maybe seven centimeters. It doesn't look as deep as Caspian initially assumed, either.

“Well…it could be worse,” Caspian murmurs. It must be unhelpful, because Peter scoffs at him.

“That doesn't sound very promising,” Peter replies through gritted teeth.

    Summary

It feels like a punishment. It feels like a blessing.

Still, Peter isn't quite sure what to do with it. He's not sure what it means, nor how it can be fixed—if it's even meant to be fixed at all.

AU in which Caspian escaped his uncle’s plot to kill him during a hunt and ends up in the ruins of a castle by the sea, where he meets the ghost of a long dead king.

Or: that one time his professor just wanted Caspian to go to an emergency meeting point and stay put, but Caspian summoned ancient myths, freed the Narnian people and maybe fell in love instead.

    Summary

“You should leave,” Peter says, at least the fifth time this evening. “It’s not safe.”

“I am not leaving,” Caspian answers, definitely for the fifth time this evening, this time not bothering to justify his response. Once Peter has decided something, it’s near impossible to convince him otherwise. They are similar, in this account.
