Summary
Stolas has lived all his life inside the tower with only his daughter for company. A prince in nam but with none of the freedom that came with the title. He is a shadow, a myth, a whisper among the split monarchy who believes he either never existed or died young; his name a taboo by King Lucifer’s decree.
Octavia has lived a comfortable if lonely life. She is one of the few demons allowed to visit the prince trapped in the tower—Prince Stolas, the Great Prophet, her dear father—at will, unrestrained and unsupervised. She doesn’t hold the title of princess, the treatment of Her Royal Highness, or the right to a sigil. She is a ward of King Paimon, a nobody that the king was kind enough to take under his wing and that is true to an extent. Paimon has no kindness: not for his son, not for his granddaughter, not for anyone who dares to speak Stolas’ name.
She is his ward, his key, and despite the love between Octavia and her father, she is just as much his jailer as Paimon is. -

Summary
Silence doesn’t belong in the circus—but lately, Blitzo’s been quiet. Barbie begins to worry as her loud, reckless brother grows distant, tired, and bruised. Fizzarolli tries to reassure her, but even he can’t ignore the signs: skipped meals, deep sleep, and the spark fading from his friend’s eyes.
But they aren't the only ones who've noticed the bruises. Stolas has noticed them too, and despite Blitzo's dismissive attitude towards his own health, he has three protective people watching him closely.

Summary
Children are like pristine glass: every interaction leaves a mark on them. Parents leave the biggest marks and the deepest wounds. Not all wounds are intentional, but they are there, waiting for the right time to show their ugly face. As a child, Octavia didn’t understand what Stolas’ muted magic means. Now that she is a teenager with more life experience and looks to the past with more critical eyes, she realises there were more factors to her parents’ divorce than just her father cheating on her mother.

Summary
After a magic mishap during one of his usual readings, Stolas must take some time off until his magical reserves are back at max capacity. Apparently, no one told the doctor that the worst he could do was telling a scholar not to do anything for a week. Boredom is a powerful (and dangerous) motivation to do about anything, and with so much free time in his hands some experimentations happen—much to Blitz and Octavia’s stress.

Summary
“Striker.”
The drastic drop in the atmosphere is visceral the moment the name is out in the open. Blitz presses his lips in a tight line, his hand moving instinctively to his holster, and his eyes acquire that calculating edge he has on the job when he is serious. When his family is in danger. He doesn’t immediately speak, but when he finds his voice, he talks to Octavia with a false calm that gives her goosebumps.
“Not a common name there, Via. Where did you hear it?”
“Research.”
“No. I need a proper answer, Octavia. Where did you hear that name?”
Octavia drums her talons on the table, a mannerism she picked from her mother to show irritation or impatience. She rests her cheek on her other hand, and suddenly her smug smirk and her face is all Stolas. “Will you give me answers?” she asks in the same way her father does when he’s being a brat. “An exchange of sorts.” -

Summary
Asmodeus was the last of the sins to be brought into the palace to see Stolas.
Belphegor had naturally been the first and she had said that what ailed the young prince was something of the soul poisoning the body. Leviathan had been brought next, but the prince was not ill with envy or in need of something someone else possessed. Mammon came after, and much like Leviathan, the prince didn’t suffer from greed. Asmodeus was a last, desperate effort to find a cure for the sick prince.
“Do you know what is it that ails my son?” Paimon asked quite concerned.
“The prince is sick with lust. He has given out his heart and no one but the owner can cure him.”
Before Paimon could interject that Stolas was set to marry soon, Lucifer clapped at his side with a maddening grin and said in a jovial, mischievous voice.
“Ah, to be young again and falling in love! The heart wishes what it wishes,” Lucifer said in a sagely voice, stopping Paimon’s fit. He turned to his friend with a sharp smile, like a knife recently sharpened. “Bring Stolas his heart! I won’t have my prophet diminished.” -

Summary
Every Full Moon was like a slice of paradise. Every kiss shared, every glance, every little interaction was like electricity. They worshipped each other without words, with the complicity and safety provided by the night and their contractual encounter. But there was more and neither could deny it, just as neither could say it out loud.

Summary
Stolas’ behaviour was…off. Blitz wouldn’t say he was being outright defiant, no, but there were things, small and irritating things that had Blitz’s hand itching badly. Last night, it had been Blitz needing salt for his dinner. He had asked Stolas to ‘pass it over’, and Stolas did. Literally. He passed the salt in front of Blitz face and then sat it back in front of himself. The day before, it was Blitz asking Stolas what hour he would get home from his meeting to which Stolas’ had replied ‘at six, darling’, only to be missing when Blitz came back at seven because ‘I never said I would stay at home and you didn’t ask, darling’, which was true, but not at all how Stolas normally behaved.
Stolas could be quite literal in several scenarios. Sarcasm would usually go over his head. But he wasn’t obtuse; he knew the meaning behind Blitz’s words in both scenarios and had decided to take them literally instead.
And now this. -

Summary
Blitz leaned in, pressing his lips to Stolas’ ear and whispered. “Let me be good to you, my pretty songbird. I love all the pretty noises you make and how soft your feathers feel. I love every part of you, Stolas.”
Stolas’ breath hitched. Blitz felt him grow tense, arching his back a little, and the pink dust in his facial disk turned a dark vermillion. He looked so lovely.
“Sit on my face, beautiful. Let me worship you.” His voice was more tender than Blitz had expected, more genuine too. He lightly caressed Stolas’ cheek with his right thumb, his left hand gently laying over Stolas’ stomach, patiently waiting. -

Summary
Blitz wasn't used to people taking care of him. Pain was normal, irrelevant, and more often than not he could barely feel it. Stolas was the opposite: he cared. Deeply. So Blitz endured and tried not to think about what those nights where they didn't have sex meant. It was dangerous.

Summary
People called Stolas many names. Out of anger. Out of hate. Out of indifference. The words stuck like a brand. He felt them, carried them with him. Sometimes, he even asked for them.
Stella played many games. She had many shiny, bright toys. Sometimes those toys got broken and she discarded them--except him. She had a soft spot for him. Her husband. She didn't like him, but she liked how he made her feel. She was always at the top of the world even if (especially if) she stepped on top of him to be seen.
And then there were Blitz and Octavia, unwilling participants and witness of the tragedy of a marriage that Stolas and Stella presented on stage like an amateurish play.
