Summary
Izuku never thought Kacchan would recognize him as anything other than a villain but when he turned to see Kacchan asleep and unguarded in his armchair, Izuku started to cry. Painful, silent sobs burned his throat and hot tears blurred his vision. He couldn't breath, his lungs aching with the effort not to make a sound. Kacchan trusted him enough to sleep in the same room as him and that crushed Izuku's heart until it could only beat in hard, soggy throbs that smacked against his chest and rattled his ribs.
He didn't deserve that trust, but he would earn it.

Red coats the space between his philtrum and chin, thick over the grim set of his mouth. It drips onto his clothes, soaking into the white of his shirt and disappearing into the olive of his ripped pants. He angles tired green eyes up at where Katsuki looms over him and smiles without mirth. “Wunna know why?”

Katsuki rolls his eyes, glancing at the skeleton paraphernalia scattered around what is essentially the front lawn of Izuku’s palace.
“I mean I’m here to stay, damn Deku. You couldn’t make me leave if you tried.”
In the background, Cerberus yips excitedly, bounding up to their new guest and demanding cuddles. Izuku, floored by what he is seeing, watches with rapt attention as the other god picks up what is supposed to be his very menacing, very terrifying guard dog and coos- actually coos - at the creature of nightmares.
“Do I even get a choice?”
Katsuki turns back, smirking, figure aglow against the Underworld’s substantially darker backdrop.
“Nope.”

He remembers the thud of pelting rain as the sky cried down on them, the rap of his fist as it met Shigaraki’s body. Katsuki grumbles over the wording of the promise but knowing better than to try pushing for a promise of no poison at all. He wraps his significantly larger pinky around Izuku’s dainty little digit before ruffling his hair. Looking at his ruffled hair Katsuki frowns before checking his pockets then his bag when his pocket don’t have what he’s looking for. He pulls out a small, green plastic case with a glittery I branded on it in yellow and orange, from the case he pulls out a hair clip, this time with a cute little bunny charm on it and pins up Izuku’s bangs.
“You need a haircut soon.”
“Hm, will you come with me? You always explain it better to the person.”
“Sure. I gotta get to class early, nerd. 1-A’s got the field trip today, remember? We leave before lunch and won’t be back until classes let out so remember to eat lunch, you got me? OI! CLIPBOARD!”
Nakahara jumps in his seat, having been laying out his own designs. “Ah! Uh yes, Bakugou-san?” Nakahara turns to face Izuku and Katsuki.
