Koko stared up at the ceiling. Underneath him, his mattress dipped to support his weight. His mind was blank and rather than try and focus on any sort of thought, he instead focused on the wind howling outside.
It was late June, around midnight, maybe just after, and Koko really should be asleep. But every time he closes his eyes, he sees her- them. Their faces have sort of mixed together now, his exhaustion muddling them together.
