This was not how the journey home was supposed to go.
They were supposed to have smooth sailing all the way back to the port city that Grian had called home for nearly a year, turn over the bodies of the watchers, and get their reward of both riches and, if Grian had understood Scar’s explanation correctly, lives for him. Then they would get their next job and hopefully it wouldn’t be too illegal.
Dangling above the ocean, wings pinned to his back, only a short ways away from Siren’s Point was not a part of their plan.
