In 1926, a child climbed Mount Ebott for the very first time, and they never came back alive. In 2077, the same thing happened for the very last time, and they never came back down at all.
Vault 66 was built to house Bellome's entire permanent population of 10,000, the largest and most expansive Vault to date and only feasible due to the large cave systems already detected in the mountain. Sadly, the Vault was never completed, for reasons unknown.
Frisk's father was the prospective head of security for the Vault before construction was cancelled, and on October 23, 2077, he takes them on a camping trip up the mountain...
