Logan recalled how off putting it felt to hear themself as a ‘he.’ Such a simple word it was with only one syllable and two letters. And yet, when pit against the new challenger in the ring, Logan surrendered to the fact that thinking of themself as neither ‘he’ nor ‘she’, but ‘they’ struck an unexplainable sense of satisfaction within. Akin to a finished puzzle piece laid on the ground or a solved rubix cube in one’s palm, Logan felt as though they had finally plucked the answer they had been missing all this time.

Virgil had left Northshore five years ago, after his dad got a new job and everything fell apart all at once. Northshore had always been his mom’s town. She’d grown up here, knew everyone, had a story for every street. When she died, coming back felt… unavoidable. Like the town was pulling them in whether Virgil wanted it or not. They bought her childhood house, the old one with the sagging porch, and tried to pretend it was just a place to live and not a reminder of everything they’d lost.
Roman hated this.
He hated the skirt Janus bought him. Not because it was a skirt. He used to love wearing whatever he wanted. He hated it because it wasn’t his. Because Janus had picked it out, had told him it looked good on him, had insisted. He hated the way the fabric felt too tight around his waist, the way it made him feel exposed instead of confident.

Logan Sanders is no stranger to loneliness.
In fact, they're close acquaintances. It eats away at his insides, threatening to break him apart from the core of his being. It's illogical, of course he is never ACTUALLY alone- but despite that, the gnawing ache in his chest is present even when he is in a room full of people, his "family," and worsens every time he opens his mouth to speak and provide his own input just to be shot down.
It makes him angry, how much the hurt gets to him.
So angry and hurt he wished he couldn't feel anything at all.
What happens when he reaches his breaking point? What will happen when that loneliness consumes him whole, only to be replaced by rage? What happens when that rage is replaced by apathy?
