Summary
Something around him shifts, and Ford's eyes snap open. He looks around to see if maybe some friend of the seer's was trying to mug him, but that couldn't be further from the truth. He's not in the tent anymore, but in the shotgun seat of a car. The air isn't filled with the disgusting mixture of fair delicacies, but rather with salt. As he turns his head to the left, his blood freezes.

Summary
Stan has been able to change his age at will for decades, even if he hasn't done so much in the last 30 years. It was useful back in the day, when turning into a kid would get him out of whatever trouble he had gotten himself into. Not so much while building the portal.
When Stan is hit with the memory gun, his mind is... kind of all over the place, so the shapeshifting becomes erratic as he uncovers new memories. His body acts on instinct, turning into whatever age his mind has latched onto.
And just like that, Ford gets to meet 40 years worth of Stan.

Summary
The man leaned in, acting way too familiar for Stan’s liking. His head was half poked into the car, mere inches from Stan’s face, and he looked concerned. Not angry, not annoyed, just… concerned. Vaguely, Stan realized the man had a flashlight, illuminating his face and the inside of the car just enough to be seen properly.
“Are you alright?” he asked Stan.
Stan blinked, then mumbled “Uh, yeah, sorry, I’ll move.”

Summary
Stanley was never a booksmart kid. Or smart, for that matter. Meanwhile, Ford's intelligence was never a doubting matter; he was a genius, plain and simple. But hell if that will keep Stan from rebuilding that shit piece of metal. Or helping his nephew with some stupid math.
