Summary
For all intents and purposes, Sarah Alder was being courted. Except, there was the fact that she had next to zero idea as to who was behind it, for all of the six years of increasingly florid gift-giving and gut-churning poetry. Or maybe she just refused to see what was red —right— in front of her.

“This season is about connection,” she continued, “It reminds us that even in the harshest winters, we find light. Not just with our magic, but in each other.”
Her eyes lingered on Tally a heartbeat longer.
“But,” she added, breaking the solemnity, “it’s also about good food, bad sweaters, and occasionally losing a spirited snowball fight to your cadets.”
Laughter rippled through the crowd.
“So tonight, celebrate—not just the season, but the people who make it meaningful. Take this light with you, into every moment and every season to come.”
Or: Sarah and Tally's Yule together as a couple was full of surprises-an unexpected little guest, a snowball fight that got out of hand, a runaway gingerbread, a raging snowstorm, and a touch of love spell that made sure everyone was feeling the holiday magic.

Her wife, meanwhile, would rather windstrike Cupid and his arrows right out of the sky, so Tally doesn't suspect a thing as Sarah prepares a surprising, and unusual, trip to celebrate the holiday.
