Or - and this is the one he’s imagined the most - one of those many family adventures would end in disaster, and one less triplet would make it home that day.
That’s always been how he thought he’d die. But life had a funny way of making things interesting, of changing, of turning the tables and suddenly showing you a whole new collection of the worst it had to offer.
Louie was completely alone, in some strange world that he could pretty accurately call Hell, because that’s what it felt like. And he was going to die alone, too.’

An incident during an adventure leaves Louie Duck stranded in an alternate dimension where he must learn to survive in a dangerous, ruthless new world. Faced with countless trials and new enemies, surviving the wild and monsters straight out of a horror film, Louie has no choice but to bend to the will of the land, or risk never seeing his family again.

Summary
Louie Duck is supposed to have two triplet brothers and an uncle. He is supposed to live in a houseboat or in a mansion and go on wild adventures with a family who loves him. Or at least, that’s the way things are in one world.
In this one, however, Llewellyn Duck has a stepbrother, a stepmother, and a father who all despise him. He does not go on wild adventures. But that’s a product of what’s happened to him, because somewhere out there, his brothers still exist, and Llewellyn Duck still has a chance to be loved.
It all begins with a letter.
(OR, the obligatory Harry Potter/Separated-at-Birth AU/Rewrite in which Louie is Harry, Dewey is Ron, and Huey is Hermione because I just could not stop myself. All changes have been made with Angst in mind. Sorry not sorry.)
