the gentle wind swirls the prickly autumn grass and flowers, rustling your fur and blowing ice cold air into your face. You grimace, you've never liked the cold but at least your lover seems happy, her white pelt that looks a light cream in the dawn light, caresses her face as she laughs softly at your obvious displeasure.

Summary
It is 1934, and the Magnus Institute has not YET been infested with worms, though Mr. Blackwood surely has rambled on about them plenty to the Archivist’s horror. Jonathan Sims reads a statement about one Arthur Lester that feels far too much like a man reaching into a different sort of wasp’s nest, (or like one is reaching into HIM) though, and curiosity truly is an awful sort of thing. He’s always been quite a moth to a flame, hasn’t he?
Or; AU in which Arthur and John are part of the TMA universe but everyone is in 1934 and things get Insectoid.

Martin stands abruptly. His chair spins away from him, wheels squeaking on the cheap lino floor. The tension between him and Jon has reached never-before-seen levels. Tim could probably cut it with a knife. Or a particularly sharp spoon.
Then, Jon lurches forward and half-clambers atop the desk and kisses Martin, and Tim drops his sandwich.
