“I need this.” Harry finally said, looking up at the man with watery eyes. “You don’t know what it’s like. It’s all crushing down on me, drowning me. I … I can’t. I …” he squeezed his eyes shut to halt the tears from falling. “I know, ok? I’m not an idiot. I know that this is not good, and not healthy, and that the Boy Who Lived should not to this. But I can’t stop it. I need this!” he pleaded with the man to understand. One person, there had to be one bloody person in this stupid castle who understood. This was the only way he could function - and he had to function because he could not let anybody else die or be harmed in any way.

Summary
“I didn’t know what else to do, okay? I was just so… frustrated. And it helps. It makes me feel better.” Harry crossed his arms defensively and looked away, glaring into the flames. “You wouldn’t understand,” he added under his breath.
“Oh, indeed?” Severus raised an eyebrow. Every instinct screamed at him not to say the next words, but he couldn’t deny himself the satisfaction of proving the brat wrong. “Actually, I would.”

Summary
Leslie sits them both down in her office immediately after they arrive. “I’m not going to mince words,” she says as soon as they’re settled. “Jason, your blood test results came back. I’m sorry. You’re HIV-positive.”
Time stops moving.
Leslie, ever the professional, plows right on before the bombshell has had time to settle. Jason doesn’t need her to explain what HIV is to him. He’s well aware. He’s watched and read depictions of the illness before, in novels and musicals, most of them tragedies because sickness always ends in tragedy. Like terminal cancer, or an oncoming train while you’re stuck in the middle of the tracks. No escape. No happy endings.
