Summary
Aventurine is never quiet—until the morning he doesn’t show up to work, doesn’t answer his messages, and leaves his apartment door half-open.
Ratio tells himself it isn’t a crisis.
It’s just irritation.
Statistically.But irritation doesn’t explain why he finds Aventurine feverish on the kitchen floor, too weak to stand, insisting he doesn’t want to “trouble” anyone.
It definitely doesn’t explain why Ratio ends up in Aventurine’s bed, holding him through the worst night of his life.

It wasn’t as if nobody had ever asked Aventurine out before, and he knew he was charming and handsome. But this was Ratio, and the Doctor had proven time and time again that he was an unusual and, at times, unpredictable person. Ratio was someone who had once explicitly said he was interested in who Aventurine actually was, not who he presented himself to be. And that kind of honesty and vulnerability was frankly terrifying – something Aventurine had no idea how to reciprocate properly.

I'm sending a representative of the Intelligentsia Guild to do the inspections."Aventurine's next snarky reply died in the back of his throat. Suddenly, his nails didn't seem all that interesting. "Oh," he did his best to sound natural and unbothered. "And who might that representative be?"
While Topaz would never pass up an opportunity to tease and one-up Aventurine, surely this was off limits. There was no way she would have picked Ratio, right?
Topaz giggled a little bit. Oh, she was enjoying this. "Oh, no one,” she said in a sing-song voice. “Just your favourite little situationship who you've been ghosting."
It appeared this was not, in fact, off limits.
