Summary
"Fuck, Andrew, what’s going on? This... This is real? Am I going crazy?"
"Neil," Andrew said, his voice low but firm, "this is real. I don’t know how or why, but I’m here with you. So, stop freaking out, okay?" He pulled Neil until their foreheads touched. "I need you to listen carefully," he began, waiting for Neil to nod before continuing. "I’ll go with the coach and Kevin to Palmetto, but I’ll come back as soon as possible to find you. We need to get these drugs out of my system. And meanwhile, you’ll grab your fucking bag and rent a decent hotel room to rest until your classes are over. You won’t run, and you’ll buy a damn phone. Got it, bunny?"
"Got it," Neil whispered, trying to absorb Andrew’s firmness; trying to believe in that absurd and ridiculous possibility. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath, letting the feeling of Andrew’s touch anchor him in reality. "I trust you. I’ll do what you said."

After almost a decade together, Neil and Andrew travel back in time to Neil's first year at Palmetto. Now, they must relive demons from the past. But at least they still have each other.

Summary
“I think he’ll come to you,” she concludes. “Each person experiences attraction and sexuality in a unique way. It is possible there’s a kind of fear there, something foreign and unfamiliar to him.”
Andrew mulls this over in his head. He thinks of Neil’s lingering gazes, of the recent reappearance of that warm blush on the tops of his cheeks. He considers, also, the inherent vulnerability of allowing oneself to be desired, and the shamelessness of desiring another. It’d make sense that Neil, both rabbit and fox, immense in his attempts to make himself minuscule, would be wary of something so terrifying.
Alternatively: On Neil Josten’s apprehension regarding his own attraction to Andrew Minyard, told by Andrew’s increasingly flustered and consistently perplexed point of view.

Summary
Nathaniel Wesninski was eight years old when his father sold him to the Moriyamas.
At the Nest, he learns quickly what survival really costs: obedience, silence, and the careful art of not breaking where anyone can see. Tetsuji’s attention is suffocating, Riko’s promises rot into something sharp and cruel, and the only thing Nathaniel is allowed to keep is the quiet certainty that none of this is love — even when part of him still wants to believe it is.
Years later, one broken hand and one brutal night are enough to push everything past the point of return. Nathaniel gets Kevin and Jean out.
Nathaniel stays behind.
By the time he finally crawls his way to Palmetto State, he is more scar tissue than person, terrified of hands, of men, of kindness most of all. The Foxes think they’re getting a quiet striker with a bad attitude.
What they get instead is someone who was never meant to survive the Nest — and did anyway.
But the past doesn’t let go easily.
And Nathaniel has never learned how to be loved without bleeding for it first.

Summary
“Were you terribly bored in my absence?” Andrew snarks. “I thought you knew how to keep yourself entertained.”
Neil blushes, even though Andrew couldn't possibly be talking about that. He glances off to the side and pretends to read the label on the wine bottle.
But Andrew, because he is Andrew, catches on. A quirk of his brow. A curious glimmer in his eyes.
“Oh, have I kept you waiting?”
“Shut up.” Neil feels it when Andrew's fingers dig into his jaw. “Kiss me?”
And Andrew, because he is Andrew, complies.Alternatively: a (very late) Valentine’s day special starring a vibrator strapped to Andrew's leg, and one sexually repressed Neil Josten.
