    Tommy wasn’t quite sure when it began; the spiraling thoughts, uncontrollable urges, being afraid to shut his eyes at night because then he would be alone in his own mind. It had been fast, though, Tommy knew that for sure. One moment he was laughing at an amusement park with his friends and the next he was moping in bed, curled into the sheets to escape the real world.

    His playlist had run out of songs an hour ago, and still, he stayed put. The same spot he had been all day. The airpod in his left ear made a warning beep to alert him it was on ten percent, and he could pull it out to put it back in its case, but that took effort—something he did not have.

     

    Or; Depression comes on fast. It's unexpected, and it's terrifying. Wilbur catches Tommy when he falls.
