It's been said that when your loved ones die, they're never truly gone so long as you love them. Love does not die until you do.

Tia Redwin has taken this very literally.

    Bookmarker's Notes

I like my silly little kids show and I love Nathalie and I'm tired of pretending I don't. Now that we've got this out if the way, guess what else I love? Kittens adopting adults that are in no way prepared for them. Particularly so if said kittens are teenagers.
This fic is beautifully done, every chapter is so warm and homey and filled with just the right amount of "guess I'll just roll with it". I love it! If it ever gets a new chapter after all this time, I'm going to celebrate!

    Summary

“I think,” Welt says out loud, “it’s okay to be a little selfish sometimes.”

    “Really?”

Dan Heng sounds like he doesn’t believe him. Welt can’t blame him.

Nonetheless, he continues. “I’ve mentored a group of kids much like you all. Young, energetic, and hearts too big for their own good.” Welt sighs. “They didn’t have the time to be selfish, too busy being heroes. So if there is room for you to be selfish, then at least the burdens of the world are not placed on your shoulders.”

“Someone has to be a hero eventually.”

“‘The tragedy does not lie in the sacrifices we’ve made for our victory - it is that we’ve accustomed ourselves to the fact that we must sacrifice someone for our victory,’” Welt recites, an age-old lesson that took him far too long to understand. “If you have something to call your own, that you can be selfish for, then the world has not failed you yet, Dan Heng.”

Dan Heng has nothing to say to that, but Welt thinks that he might get it.

Or, not yet. Just like how Welt didn’t get it, once.

    But he will, with time.

    Bookmarker's Notes

My goodness, this is beautiful. Engrossing from start to finish - every time I open it, I inevitably get sucked back in.
If you ever wanted a fanfic that goes into Welt Yang, and his reactions to the weirdness that is dimensional doppelgangers - look no further. It's funny, it's somber, and it brings the old man back home.

    Bookmarker's Notes

There's a bunch of great works in this (my) fandom - too many to bookmark them all - but this one always stood out to me. Maybe because it awakened my appreciation of just how domestic and comfortable my favourite couple can be. Less than 500 words, and everything that needs to be said is said in one gorgeous little one-shot.
(How I wish I could write like this.)
No need to know the fandom to read and appreciate this, and if you happen to come across this note - I can only most warmly recommend that you do give it a read.

Adrien Agreste's greatest secret is that he's the alter-ego of one of Paris' heroes, Chat Noir.
His second biggest secret is that he doesn't actually have a miraculous.
Not that that's going to stop him from fighting alongside Ladybug. After all, Paris needs all the heroes it can get.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This is quite possibly one of the best fics in this fandom. At least to me. An AU prompt where instead of Adrien, Nathalie takes the ring and... if you thought a missing ring can stop Chat Noir, you're gravely mistaken.
It's absolutely amazing work! One of the few fics I like to take from the shelf and re-read every now and then, even if I already know how the story goes. More than worth the read, if you've got some time on your hands and feel like fangirling about the greatest character in the series (Nathalie, of course).
