Summary
Helen felt like he could read her mind at times, and she his. It should’ve been unsettling, being known so intimately like that, but it only ever really brought her comfort. Because it was him, and not anyone else, who was capable of it.
It occurred to her some way down her third dram, maybe a little tipsy and sentimental, that more than anything else she wanted to be at home, in bed, with her husband who was somehow here in one piece despite all the odds and how easily he could’ve not been.
