“What?!” Carla protests. “I was just admiring your new earrings.”
As if to prove her point, the brunette captures one of the small gold hoops between her fingers, gives it a gentle tug.
“You know what they say,” she smirks, wiggling her eyebrows. “The bigger the hoop…”
Lisa rears back slightly, quirks an eyebrow. “Oi! What are you suggesting, Connor?”
Carla smiles, releases the earring from her grasp. “Nothing, darlin’,” she says sweetly. “Nothing at all.”
“Good,” Lisa grins, taking Carla’s chin between her thumb and forefinger. “Because I’ll have you know I’m a one-woman kind of girl.”
