Time and time again the realization hits Brian, ebbs and flows through his brain like water off a stone. Mostly it results in nothing more than an idle realization, flitting in and out of his consciousness before anything could be internalized. Sometimes it was more. Sometimes it was the soul crushing realization that meaningless multiple-choice tests and repetitive lectures about the importance of Freud did not prepare one for anything at all, let alone what he was facing now.
