    Summary

“The Maedhros who stands before his son is not one thing but many. He is a struck-down statue. He is a fading demon. He is a sword in a nuclear war. He is historical debris. He is the sum of a nation’s ruin. He is the first sunset of the Empire’s apocalypse. He is Elrond’s beloved Baba, who would find him under every starless sky. Archives will dissect him. Historians will redeem him. Writers will swallow him whole.”

In 1937, notorious Indian revolutionary Maedhros Fëanorian and his brother Maglor, take in a British colonial officer's twin sons and raise them to adulthood. Decades later, Elrond Peredhel, trying to leave a family tragedy behind in England, returns to India during a time of political turbulence and finds that everything, from the national landscape to his firebrand father, the ineffable Comrade Maedhros, has changed. Chapter 19: Epilogue, Afterword and 'Alternate' Ending.

    Summary

Eleanor “Len” Lennox is a survivor. Scarred, feral, and feared by all, she thrives in the chaos of Basgiath War College. When she bonds with Noxarathian—an ancient, deadly white dragon known for killing his riders—Len becomes something extraordinary. Together, they wield Shadowfire, a destructive power capable of annihilating the Venin threatening Navarre.

But beneath her terrifying reputation lies a fractured soul. Len keeps her scars, her pain, and her dark past hidden, even from her closest friends, Xaden Riorson and Bodhi Durran. The only person who dares to break through her walls is Garrick Tavis, the one man who might teach her what it means to love—and to heal.

As rebellion brews and the Venin’s power grows, Len must embrace the shadows within her. Because saving the people she loves might demand the ultimate sacrifice.

    Summary

“It must have been incredible,” Caspian says, tearing his eyes from the horizon to glance over at Peter, who still watches the tide come in below the crumbled edge of the terrace. “Your Narnia.”

“It was,” replies Peter, one nail tracing the grooves of the lion-pommel’s mane. He sounds wistful and melancholic and mournful all at once. “Trumpkin told us they’re calling it the Golden Age now, when we ruled. But back then it was just Narnia. I wish— well. I suppose I wish you could have seen it. I think you would have liked it.”

And Caspian, watching the sunlight dapple Peter Pevensie’s cheekbones, the sea breeze ruffling his hair—Caspian, gazing at a King who stepped right out of the stories his professor used to tell him, out of the Golden Age of Narnia itself; High King Peter the Magnificent, who came when Caspian called—thinks that what he’s seeing right now is more than enough.

(or, the kings and queens of old are not quite what caspian expected, high king peter most of all. apparently the feeling is mutual.)

    Summary

it’s edmund’s father who teaches him how to be a man.

he teaches him how to ride a bike (and not to cry when he wobbles and bruises his knees on the cobbles); he teaches him how to fasten a tie (not to slouch when he sits, to say please and thank you, to be polite and quiet and convenient); he teaches him his multiplication tables (heads bent together over the scrubbed kitchen table, edmund’s pen tapping against his two loose front teeth), his words (sounding out the harder ones, black spiky characters on a white page that jumble themselves in front of his eyes), how to play cricket (“not bad, ed,” dad says, and edmund is overcome with boyish pride), how to fish (though, not often, because they’re in london and london isn’t exactly overflowing with lakes) –

of course, he teaches peter all this first.
