Summary
The young man’s reaction was immediate. He pivoted his body slightly, rising in a swift motion. Taking on a defensive stance, he aimed the knife toward the source of the sound.
Even under the moon’s faint light, he could make out a silhouette behind the rock.
“Who’s there?” His voice came out steady. “I can smell you. There’s no point in hiding.”
Kaiser stepped out with his hands raised in surrender.
But Kaiser moved too fast—far too fast for someone being threatened by a blade. His steps were calm, unhurried, yet his scent surged forward ahead of him.
“You look like a frightened rabbit,” he said, his tone almost amused. “Don’t worry. I’m not here to hurt you.”
The knife didn’t lower by even a fraction. His eyes, now adjusted to the gloom, traced the figure emerging before him: tall, with a carelessly confident posture, and a smile that was both an invitation and a provocation at once.

“Hi clown, missed me ?”
It’s almost funny; Yoichi swears that the teasing edges of the bastard's words are tangible, and that he can possibly grab them and shove them back Michael’s throat.
“You fucking wish.” Yoichi spits, falling back effortlessly into their usual banter; it clicks like two puzzle pieces from the same detail on a picture, like they both have counted down the years before being able to reunite.
Or, Yoichi thinks he can spend a lazy, peaceful summer in Germany, in a familiar house owned by his parents' friends. Enters Michael Kaiser, his childhood friend. It's not like he hates him : Yoichi has a lot of good memories that include Michael. It's just that he's also the last guy on Earth you would like to spend your holidays with.
Or, Kaiser is stuck in a house for at least an entire month with none other than Yoichi, his childhood friend, on whom he unfortunately has a long-lasting childhood crush. This secret, for a plethora of reasons, will be taken to his grave (hopefully).

Summary
Yoichi Isagi cares a lot. He cares about what his coach and hero Noel Noa thinks of his playing style. He cares about the curve of the ball as it flies into the net with ease. He cares about seeing Bachira smile on the field despite playing on opposing teams. One thing he doesn’t care about, though, is his so-called-rival, Michael Kaiser.
In fact, every morning, when they happen to be in the gym at the same time, Isagi tries his best to ignore him. And on their lunch breaks, when Kaiser happens to end up at the same shop Isagi does, he avoids eye contact like the plague. He couldn’t care less about the taller of the two, standing at a whopping 186 cm with flowing blonde hair that really doesn’t help the spotlight on him at all times. Isagi puts it aside because they’re adults. Well, almost. It’s not a big enough deal to make a fuss over.
Still, each time their paths crossed, Michael Kaiser was a beacon Yoichi Isagi couldn’t tear away from. But Isagi didn’t care. Kaiser could drop dead and Isagi wouldn’t bat an eye. That was their reality.
OR
Bastard München is on winter break, and Noel Noa forces Isagi and Kaiser to room together.
