You know Ford is an experienced outdoorsman and he’d probably be able to find his way around here blindfolded and hogtied. If you have to go out in risky weather with anyone, he's undoubtedly going to be your best bet.
With the stride of a uniquely confident man, Ford steps out into the evening air with a sharp breath inward and a contented sigh, taking in the awaiting scent of petrichor. He holds the door open for you with one hand and gestures for you to follow with the other, offering you a rakish grin.
“Shall we?”
And when he smiles at you like that, what choice do you have?

“I just wanted to make somethin’ that’d make ya happy,” Fiddleford said quietly, smiling down at Ford shyly. Ford was still kneeling between his knees, hands warm and steady where they rested. “With my back an’ all—and no offense, honey, but we both know you ain’t toppin’.”
Ford huffed a soft laugh, rolling his eyes with fond exaggeration as he leaned forward and rested his head against Fiddleford’s knee. The fabric of the overalls was familiar beneath his cheek, grounding in a way that made his chest ache pleasantly.
“I just can’t…,” Fiddleford continued, voice lowering. “I can’t take ya like I used to. Or like you deserve.” He swallowed, Adam’s apple bobbing, a flush creeping up his neck and settling warmly across his cheeks. “So I built somethin’. Somethin’ that could.”

Summary
Stanford Pines never pictured himself as a father, least of all like this. When a bloody lab accident makes him an incubator for a pair of hybrid shape shifters, Ford's priorities are called into question. In a very unusual situation with few options, Ford is left juggling the intense stress on his body with Bill's demands. Unfortunately for Bill and Ford's future, once Ford meets his new offspring, it soon becomes clear that there are things that matter more to him than fame and fortune.
