Summary
There were other factors. Assurances to fall back on. This stranger, this ‘definitely not who she thinks she is’ stranger, has a softness in their touch Furina would never expect from that other woman. The very concept felt foreign, forget what the twins had said about supposedly gentle hands. Besides, this stranger is being so... nice and sweet right now. It's probably not who she thinks. It couldn’t be. She would be a lot more brusque… Assumably.
Still, there’s a non-zero chance. A new blot of dark red in her theories, spreading outwards to consume.
There is a possibility, however small she commands it to be, that the one she’s dancing with, pliant to Furina’s touch, is one Lord Knave, Arlecchino.

Or, Furina attends a masquerade at her friend's request to get away from the tension of a frustrating week, and waltzes with one of said tensions. Meanwhile Arlecchino wrestles with wanting to get closer to Furina out of both respect and intrigue and stumbles into success while mostly keeping her aura intact.

Summary
Jean would argue against the accusation that she ‘imploded’ her life. That would imply that her job had been her life, or that her marriage hadn’t failed years before they signed the papers, or even that all the things she owned meant anything. None of which, of course, was true. That’s why Jean dropped everything and took off for a tiny island that seemed a hell of a lot more like home.
