VOLLEYBALL IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER!
Welcome to AeqVB! This is A Haikyuu x Tokyo Ghoul “good end” fusion. It will be predominantly character studies.
For Haikyuu fans who don’t know Tokyo Ghoul: The basic premise of Tokyo Ghoul is that there is another species of people that look essentially the same as humans on the outside, but they are obligate human-vores. They can only digest humans and coffee. In the original setting, ghouls are hunted near to extinction by the CCG, Commission for Counter Ghoul, because the primary method of sourcing food is serial killing random people. In this AU, it is assumed that the CCG and societal perception were massively reformed such that ghouls are not actively hunted any more, and do not have to actively kill people to survive. It’s not perfect, and this series will aim to explore this. If you are curious about my worldbuilding, my initial brainstorming can be found on tumblr under the #hq tg au mkii tag, but it is full of spoilers.
For Tokyo Ghoul fans who don’t know Haikyuu: You may be confused, as this is essentially Tokyo Ghoul speculative worldbuilding through the lens of Haikyuu characters. But nothing is stopping you from reading this :D

Yamaguchi Tadashi hates being afraid. He’s small enough to avoid most problems, and the bullies he faces at school are nothing to the bully that lives at home. He wants nothing more than to prove himself, and maybe making friends with the one boy who seems to hate everyone else is the way to do it.

Summary
Bakugou Katsuki always knew there was something foul hiding in the darkness. While he can't see exactly what was there, his intuition told him when to run and when to pretend like everything was alright. After starting middle school, he ran into two strange high schoolers who could fight off whatever was hiding in the shadows. They called themselves "jujutsu sorcerers" and soon Bakugou found himself drawn to that darker world...and the two strongest troublemakers.
He thought it was fine. Whatever went on between the three of them was no one else's business. The only problem was that Deku and everyone else seemed to think otherwise.

Ichigo and Orihime were high school sweethearts and now they're a respectable married couple with a perfectly fine little suburban house and a child. (Well, tolerably fine. The house, not the child. The child is great.) They are sweet and loving and supportive and there is nothing missing in their life. Nope! Nothing.
Nelliel and Grimmjow sure as hell aren't married, and never mind being respectable in any way, but they managed to breed somehow so they're gonna have to deal with that. As soon as they manage to deal with being jobless and evicted.
Surely those two people they had a pretty bad run-in with as teenagers are not going to be of any help, though... Oh.
