A twig snaps. Robin spins around and tightens her grip on the knife, desperate enough to fight if it comes down to it.
But whatever approaches her is not the creature she expected. No, that’s no monster.
Robin squints trying to get a clearer view. Is that the little boy who lives down the street? What is he doing here? What is she doing here? In this dark, twisted version of reality.
He gets closer, close enough that Robin can just make out the fear on his face, mirrored in her own. She lowers her knife and he lowers his gun.
“Will?”
