The voice was rich, leathery, and smooth, a controlled belt from the chest of the woman on stage. Mira imagined she could see the concentration in the woman’s closed eyes and furrowed brow, if the stage lights weren’t hitting her from behind, shrouding her in a golden silhouette.

Mira looked at Zoey. The girl was just as transfixed. More so than Mira, even. But then, Zoey’s attunement to the Honmoon was much stronger than Mira’s. Zoey often said the Honmoon kind of felt like the Ocean from Moana. Mira had never seen it so she had to take Zoey’s word for it.

Summary
Mira and Zoey have known since the beginning that their harmony would never be complete. The Honmoon never picked a third hunter. She could be dead for all they know.
Rumi has lived in the demon realm all her life, with a voice so powerful that it turns demons to dust and opens passageways in the Honmoon. The demons fear it, leaving her well enough alone. Gwi-ma tolerates her jabs because he cannot control her. Rumi is sick of the constant terror that seems to always follow her around, she could tell half of Gwi-ma's court to jump into a lava pit and they would scramble to do it.

Rumi is a liar and a fraud who wants nothing to do with the life she has been born into.
She shouldn't want to keep going back to the human world, but is it really such a bad thing? All she has to do is avoid the new generation of hunters and it'll all be fine.

Kneeling beside the body—covered head to toe in blood and bearing claws she’d never shown before—was Rumi, her eyes wide and feral. The once subtle patterns rippled across her skin like gouges through her flesh, deep purple and red. They were spreading, expanding violently. The Hon-moon was in tatters around her.
The girl—the demon—looked up in time to see Celine, before the ground swallowed her whole. Before Gwi-Ma claimed what was his.-Now-
“At least there’s only one this time…? We can just take her out before she gets too-too-big?”
Mira’s face softened, but not in a good way. Her expression reflected back the weight Zoey still felt deep in her bones after the week they’d had.
“Zoey,” she said, gentle as anything. It was scary. Not in the usual Mira-scary way her fans loved. It was scary like a boulder crumbling. Like an avalanche.

Summary
“What the fuck are you?!” A fervent voice hissed, drawing Rumi from her thoughts.
There was a demon in her hotel room, pacing with agitation in front of the window overlooking the San Francico Bay. There was a demon waiting for her at her most vulnerable, fresh out of the admittedly luxurious shower after their latest set of their world tour. A demon that had caught her alone, patterns bared to the world in such a way that to call for help was to risk discovery. Mira and Zoey, could absolutely not see her like this, and the demon before her must of known that. Even calling upon her Saingeom would spell her doom. The ripples of its appearance would call to them as surely as a tear would have.
The demon must have known this somehow, why else would it have set this ambush?
